A: A city wide discussion about a book. In this case, the book is The Things They Carried by Tim O’Brien.

 

Q: Why participate in something like Bayonne Reads: One Book, One Community?

A: To build community; to have fun; to support literacy; to get together with fellow book lovers

 

Q: How does Bayonne Reads work?

A: People get the book, read it over the summer, sign up for a discussion location, and then show up to discuss the book:  Nice and simple.

 

Q: Can anyone join?

A: Yes, you just need to read the book and be willing to discuss it in a civil manner.

 

Q: Where will discussions take place?

A: Discussions will take place in various locations throughout the City; locations will be announced at a later date.

A: On various dates in the fall, dates will be announced at the end of August.

 

Q: Do I have to read the whole book to join a discussion?

A; No, you do not have to read the whole book to join a discussion. Even reading one story will allow you to join a discussion.

 

Q: What if I don't have a copy of the book?

A:  If you have a library card,  you can check out a book from the Bayonne Public Library; you can purchase the book  at a discount from the Little Boho Bookshop; you can borrow the book from a friend; you can purchase the book from an online retailer or another bookstore; and you can check the little libraries in town for a copy.
